What scares me isn't the likelyhood of it happening, which is very low. It's the sheer horror of it. It would be innescapable. and that's what makes it seem imminent.

@seeker, anything that you are afraid of. In our paranoind culture(s) we are scared of so much stuff based on horror of "if it did" rather than "chances are...". What are you afraid of? Odds are it will never happen.

I am not afraid of anything but my own death and pain.

Pain is rational, but not death, not unless hell is a reality for you and you fear that, but there's no proof that hell exists. Fear of a painful death is rational I guess.
PS. I'm not usually this morbid.

Some european say that being afraid is a american phenomenon as anxiety is pushed by the sociaty...that why everybody can own a weapon to protect themsselves...and so on and so on...that what they say

I am afraid of something bad happening to my kids. Any parent who's lost their kid in a crowd will know that one. it's like I say.. chances are they are fine and looking for you, but the horror of not being able to find them again makes you start to believe that the worst has happened to them and you start panicking.
