This is the intersection where grandpa got hit by the two trains in greenwich, not at a switching yard, but at the intersection where two independent sets of tracks were side by side. One had a fast (passenger) train and the other one was an army train, which was slow. The fast train came around a blind curve and hit him and dragged him into the second train.

No Al, he died in 1945 from the impact of the first train. I am trying to piece together what happened with locals like En-titty who know the area.

yep..that's just south of Ft. Ann in Smith's Basin.........the building on the right is the old hotel and is haunted...we did an investigation there....the tracks are just west of the Champlain Canal, before you go over the bridge....the slow tracks are the narrow gage RR that ran to the mills and saw mills and delivered goods from the station in Hudson Falls....the regular tracks belong to the D&H and is part of the Laurentian Line run to Montreal
