The erbium doped fiber amplifier processes signal from the super head end. the signal is then routed to the wave division multiplexer which then routes it through the passive optical network to the Opical line terminal. From there the signal is routed through various fiber drops untill it reaches the optical network terminal at which point it is processed into a usable digital electronic signal.
