also, note the amount of time this took, i did this rendition of a sketch by "T." entirely pixel for pixel and as you can see, the results are staggering.

hahhoho! jokes, but it brings up my (upbeat-house-trumpet laced music) inspired 10e idear... can we have a save for later posting function? like i may get bored of drawing and wish to continue later before burdoning everyone with a shi*t drawing. maybe it saves to a secret folder that only 'you' can see in your own gallery, you then retouch and can save-to-board and woooo

that's something i thought of when this was getting started - i'll see how hard it will be to make it so a draw can be saved but not posted until you mark it finished to keep working on it

...the retouch is mesmerizing to me, but it kinda' takes something away from the draws I think, I am not complaining, absolutely not complaining at all, but it kind of does what videotape did to the Wizard Of Oz, you know, being able to see it more than once a year, being able to change an original might make one put less effort into the original??? nah, never mind...

i could possibly disallow re-touch on a per person basis. . . i had the same internal argument about the option, i think it also is a nice thing to have when you have run out of time to work on something but want to finish more in the future

But Maybe you could make an option where you could leave an image "unfinished" cause you have to go, so as to not actually post it to the board yet. Then come back and retouch/finish after work and post it...

I agree with bupobm. Save an image until its finished and ready to be posted. Or maybe a Work-In-Progress Board, folder or something. BUT I don't really NEED anything. THis is all fabulous, and like fatrobots said retouch is the futures like flying cars, food in pill form, jetpacks and teleportation

...and changing the old draws is to much fun, and I don't want to draw a new one...but by the looks of the member list, I can afford to layoff for awhile and let younz' catch up a bit....

hey mrae! click the re-touch text link on the top right of the image title bar (i'm seeing it in the board view) just to the right of the title, artist name and time

i clicked it and i can see the giant grid of circles just fine, maybe try again? which browser are you using and what version?

Yanbu, don't know what my usual browser is (i'm pretty much computer illiterate and would live in a techno cave) but firefox is working fine :)

STEP 3 start the color pattern.... okay, so i got carried away and forgot i was doing this one in stages, basically i pick one of the dot sizes and start counting and coloring until i like the pattern/color combos.

sort of like this... using the reverse mask for the black.

now that all the big dots have been colored, its time to tackle the little ones. still using reverse mask for black. since the little ones are all that's left its easier and can use the line or square tools to do fades.

after coloring the little dots (i just used a single color here) color the white background (can do fades with white mask but i just used one color)

i usually play around with the background colors (oooh the preeety colors) for a while seeing how different combos do different things

changed the little dots and the background :)

P.S. the pattern is the hardest part, requires counting and stuff and coloring in the dots one by one generally so it does take a while but don't panic, i was on the phone for a while so it wasn't actually 7 hours+ :) There you have it, enjoy... :)

Yanbu, just a couple things I noticed when scanning through the unknown gallery. If you hit the forward button instead of the next numbered box button, it will sometimes skip several pages. Also, if you hit the back button after moving a page forward, the page going backwards will have completely different drawings on it then the one you were just at. It will continue to show different draws as long as you keep going back. So basicly you get two different sets of pages....one going forward and one going back...weird. I'm sure you also noticed a lot of red X's in the drawing boxes on some of the pages. One final note......are all 7000+ drawings located in the unknown drawing area. There seems to be a lot of the drawings missing. I posted this comment here so all of the other drawers can have a better chance of locating some of their drawings and to see if you (yanbu) have noticed this.

thanks for the heads up sheep - the gallery navigation is set so that you view any of the page numbers listed on the screen by clicking the numbers (1-13 on the first page) clicking the >> tab brings you to page 14, viewing 14-24 - then clicking >> again brings you to page 25, etc. clicking first or last will bring you to the very first page or very last page of a gallery

the unknown gallery has a ton of stuff in it that belongs to people still, it's been hours of combing through to re-attach the images to the correct artists (i posted about the unknown gallery on the front news page before the boards went up on sunday) the import script used to get everyone in attached an image to a name based on the correct spelling of the artist name versus the IP address, if there were name variations or different IP's the drawing went to the unknown . . . hopefully i can get all these sorted out to the right people by the weekend. The only way to do it is manually, and as you can imagine it takes hours just to do a few hundred! and lots of the images have no name at all, or a name that has never been used before, so it's kind of impossible on the majority of the images to see who they really go to.

if anyone feels like going through and finding their own stuff, please do - and add it to a new folder (you can create a folder in your gallery page) and then email when you've made a list. i can convert them easier this way, but it takes a looong time to go through these. so either wait for me to do it over the next week, or email me if you do find yours so i don't do the work twice! thanks
