got hung on a retouch
WTF
here it was not letting me save on
anything but actual size
set on 1 original size it saved
i know i knew this, but i missed it here

hey tthunderdan, checking into this it looks like it's a bug in cheerpj and not with the site or drawing app. i'm working on a solution and will update - should get things more back to normal soon here

here i was thinking i was messing up awhile back, maybe trying to save without it being original size,

after months of hard work, we now have a clone of the beloved vintage oekaki v1.31 app, completely java free! no more need to launch cheerpj or other workarounds.

spent a lot of time comparing and testing functions, this uses the same core codebase but no longer java reliant. clone includes the slide hack!

if you run into any issues with the app or spot something that isn't working as expected, please email me at yanbu@10eastern.com and i'll look into it

also, animation works again :)

then use the retouch to draw
i havent seen the retouch freeze
i know of no other way

but now i cant get it to draw anything

Very sad to learn that Roel (aka Shunt) passed away on February 1st 2025. Never had the chance to meet Roel in real life, but felt like I knew him well through his draws here, and his humor and comments on everyone elses work as well.

Looking back at his gallery the first drawing he contributed here was back in July of 2004, near the very beginning of this website. He continued to draw here all the way up to March 2024, nearly 20 years! The image on this post is one that Roel himself drew here on 10e back in February of 2020, titled 'Mr and Mrs Shunt'. I always thought it was a sweet gesture and one of my favs that he made here.
