i played a baritone guitar through this pedal yesterday. sounded bad ass.
eN-Titty 7/18/2007 - 8:57:59 am
OK, I'll bite......I've been a professional musician for 50 years and worked on a degree in music for college (before I switched to psych)and I have NEVER hear of a baritone guitar...although I do have that pedal for my '57 Strat
\< 7/18/2007 - 9:59:16 am
this one right here: http://www.guitarplaza.com/espltdmhelba1.html
fatribz 7/18/2007 - 2:01:43 pm
what would you call a standard guitar then?

and i like this oekaki!#$
\< 7/18/2007 - 2:09:07 pm
uhm. normal guitar? standard guitar? regular guitar? generic guitar? since no one seems to play in standard tuning anymore, i guess that regular guitars should be renamed falsetto guitars.
mf 7/18/2007 - 6:44:06 pm
ifn ya cant rock the standard tuning, you cant hack it! Sepultura rocked on 4 strings! ok, im being jaded.....but yeah kiddo, you script the best stuff!
eN-Titty 7/18/2007 - 8:13:14 pm
I think calling it a baritone guitar is just a means to make a regular guitar seem like something special. there is nothing on that guitar to make it a baritone. A tenor guitar is a acustic guitar with a very narrow small body and only 4 strings. but that thing is a plain old standard guitr. some sucker will buy it thinking its "special". Like PT Barnum said......
\< 7/19/2007 - 12:49:23 am
ok, a bass guitar is just a guitar, also but:
A normal guitar's standard tuning (from lowest string to highest) is EADGBE. Baritone guitars are usually tuned a fifth lower (ADGCEA), a fourth lower (BEADF#B) or an octave lower (EADGBE). Gretsch, Fender, Jerry Jones, and many other companies have produced baritone guitars since the sixties albeit always in low numbers due to low popularity.
Baritone guitars have larger bodies than standard guitars, especially in the case of acoustic instruments, and have longer scale lengths which allow the strings to be tuned lower while remaining close to or at normal tension. On a normal acoustic guitar the strings are typically 24.9" to 25.7" long, and the 6 strings range in diameter from .012" to .054". The string lengths of various baritone designs range from 27" to 30", and the string gauges range from the normal .012-.054" set to sets as thick as .017-.080".
