I predict that in 2023, it's pretty common to have an USB-port next to your ear. Later on, schools will become almost superfluous, just once in a while you have to go somewhere to upgrade yourself.
All this will make it possible to donwload someone's thoughts too. Artists will be able to import their hard-to-work-out ideas into the default programs on their computer.

nice but i predict that by 2023 'usb' will be considered oldtech. they'll be using brainwave transceivers by then. (out in the open i mean, it's obvious some black program agents do have them already)
for more cybertech ideas, see http://www.mysticrealms.com/files/rules/cybertech.pdf
i want the gravity nullifier!

hopefully it won't be wifi. scary if someone could dial in to your thought frequency . . some sort of thought regulation would be enforced by the government. i think that would be the thing i'd miss the most, the comfort of knowing your thoughts reside in your head alone if you choose not to share them. "remember when we could sit around and daydream for hours?" i'm sure this has all been covered in sci-fi novels, and will not happen in our lifetime
Al 2/18/2006 - 7:38:55 am
I predict in 2023 I will be even poorer than I am now.
tthunderdan 2/18/2006 - 8:46:00 am
...thought enforcement by the government? no thanks! but it does make sense that if you can send radio and tv (images) over the airwaves, then thoughts should be easier actually, just need to have the technique, some do I reckon'...

The US military had severla mind control projects running as early as world war I. There are still many projects still active in this field.
we (civilians) will be able to buy 'mind control' headphones as early as the end of this year.
A company is coming out with headphones designed to make games more realistic. with no direct wiring to the body at all, a person can don the headphones and be 'driven' around the room by another person. The headphones emit a ~sound~ frequency that tricks the brain into thinking the body is leaning in a particular direction. your body automatically walks in the firection to keep itself upright. neat stuff.
you can read about the ilitary's 'thought implantation' projects online. they've had some success implating feelings/moods into people remotely.
